If there's one thing we love, it's old project cars. This first-gen Mazda RX-7 has been sitting undriven for nearly 20 years, and now, . Despite the lack of attention, it's incredibly clean underneath, and we think bringing it back to life would be a fun challenge. You should buy it.
Welcome to You Must Buy, our daily look at the cars you really should be buying instead of that boring commuter sedan.
According to the seller's description, this yellow RX-7 coupe has been sitting untouched in a carport since 2001. Hailing from Washington state, it's incredibly clean inside and out, with absolutely no rust to speak of. The car is all-original, right down to the wheels, paint, and exhaust. It even still has those sweet factory "RX-7" side stripes, which is nice. The engine bay looks tired, but complete. We bet it wouldn't take much to get this thing started, though the brake system and tires would definitely need attention if you wanted to actually drive it down the road.
The car is with a Buy It Now price of $2000 or best offer. It's a pretty reasonable number considering the originality and all the work you'd have to do to get it road-worthy. And because the body is so clean and solid, it'd make for a great V8 swap, if that's what you're into.
