If you haven't already heard, a group of Viper enthusiasts took a couple of new Viper ACRs to the Nurburgring to attempt to break the track's lap record. The team was able to manage an astounding 7:01.3 in their final attempt, making the ACR the fastest manual-transmission car, the fastest American car, and the fastest rear-wheel drive car around the famous 12.9-mile circuit.
Dale Lomas was on the scene to document the Viper's final run for us, and the team was nice enough to let him go for a spin. Luckily, Lomas had his helmet-mounted camera handy, so he strapped it on before hopping into the cockpit.
What follows is about 10 minutes of pure V10-powered bliss. Lomas isn't able to go all-out simply because the seat is too far away from the pedals, but it seems he still had a blast pushing the 645-horsepower snake through the high-downforce turns of the Nordschleife.
Watch for yourself and witness what driving a Viper on the Nurburgring truly feels like.
