Toyota and Mazda's New Plant Is Huge for Alabama

Toyota and Mazda in Alabama

As we said yesterday, Mazda and Toyota were set to announce they would build a joint plant in Alabama. in a press conference. The plant will be a $1.6 billion investment and create 4,000 jobs.

The plant will build up to 300,000 cars per year, with Toyota building the Corolla and Mazda building a new small SUV. The plant, which is Toyota's 11th in the US and the fist for Mazda since it stopped building the 6 in Michigan in 2012, is expected to open in 2021.

Kvyat's New Job

Former Red Bull driver Daniil Kvyat has a new job after being dropped by the Red Bull program last year. as a development driver alongside Antonio Giovinazzi. It sounds like the job will mostly be on the simulator, but who knows if it could lead to a third driver role, test driver, or maybe a drive at Alfa Romeo Sauber in the future.

Ford Diesels

Just when you thought you'd heard about all the alleged diesel cheating there was, another arises. Now owner are of some Super Duty diesels are suing Ford for alleged emissions cheating. The trucks named in the suit are the 2011 - 2017 F250 and F350.

Ford denies the claims of cheating.
