There are lots of boring cars out there, but once in a while, a manufacturer introduces a badass trim or option that makes a seemingly average car worth acknowledging. Which is your favorite?
The Ford Focus RS is the car that comes to mind for me. Though it shares a chassis and body with the normal, decidedly un-exciting Focus, the RS is built for performance, with a trick all-wheel drive system and a 350-horsepower turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine. There's also big brakes, grippy tires, and even a drift mode—all in a vehicle that started life as an economy car.
Now we'd like to know: What's your favorite badass variant of a boring car? It doesn't have to be a an entirely new trim level either—your choice could be just an engine option. And unlike the Focus RS, your choice doesn't have to be new, either. Let us know in the comments below.
