The F430's Racing Engine Sounds Glorious

It's actually smaller than the road car's V8. But it sounds a whole lot better.

The F430 will always hold a special place in our hearts because it was the last mid-engine Ferrari to be offered with a manual transmission. Also, it sounds spectacular, especially in race trim.

Powering this car is a 4.0-liter V8 engine (destroked from the road car's 4.3-liter displacement). Horsepower is down, but we'd argue it sounds a lot better than the road car—partly because it doesn't have such a restrictive exhaust fitted. Don't believe us? Here, take a listen for yourself.
