We believe in you, little Subaru.

Subaru and rallying go hand-and-hand with each other, but when it comes to true, hardcore off-roading, Subarus really aren't all that popular. This lifted Impreza WRX on mud tires is here to change that.

One brave soul decided it would be a good idea to enter a 2002 Impreza WRX in a trucking off-road course event in Lynden, Washington to see how it would do. The course is full of obstacles—nothing a big SUV couldn't handle, but too hardcore for most standard passenger cars. In addition to the lift and tires, the WRX also has a metal skid plate equipped to protect the engine which, as you're about to see, definitely comes in handy.

Though it doesn't look totally at home, the WRX does fairly well on the course, sloshing through the water pit and getting air on the jumps. That skid plate saves the day on more than one occasion, taking the full brunt of a few impacts.

It wasn't the fastest vehicle of the event, but we give the driver props for bringing their WRX out to play. It's proof Subarus are good for more than just rallying and snow days.
