The new Lamborghini Huracan Evo is cool and all, but honestly, I'd rather have something like this Gallardo. It has an aftermarket twin-turbo system from Dallas Performance, and makes 1500 horsepower on race gas. Oh, and it has a gated six-speed manual transmission. The best part? It's . You should buy it.
Welcome to You Must Buy, our daily look at the cars you really should be buying instead of that boring commuter sedan.
This car started out life as a normal all-wheel drive Gallardo before being sent to Dallas Performance for a swath of performance-minded upgrades. The 5.2-liter V-10 was totally rebuilt with a sleeved block, billet rods, billet pistons, ARP head studs, an upgraded water pump, upgraded fuel pumps, bigger injectors, and a MoTec ECU to handle the twin-turbo system. The seller claims 1000 horsepower to the wheels on 93 octane, and 1500 on race gas. The manual transmission has been rebuilt with billet gears, a billet differential, and billet axle shafts.
In addition to the drivetrain, the car also has a fire suppression system, a six-point roll cage, and 19-inch ADV.1 wheels wrapped in Toyo R888 tires. According to the seller, the car was taken back to Dallas Performance to have the engine refreshed just 500 miles ago. The odometer reads 11,544 miles.
The car is with a Buy It Now price of $156,991 or best offer. Considering there's a claimed $200,000 in upgrades invested into this thing, we'd say that's a fair price. Plus, it's cheaper than most other manual Gallardos out there, and certainly cheaper than a new Huracan Evo. Extra maintenance costs aside, of course.
