Arnold Schwarzenegger has long shown an appreciation for vehicles as macho as the action heroes he portrayed during his silver-screen salad days. Now you can buy one of them. It is, as you can see, relentlessly excellent.
Update, Jan. 15, 2016: We first brought you this story on September 5, 2014, when Arnold's 'Mog first went up for sale. It's on sale again, —significantly higher than last time around! The mechanical details are all the same, though.
Reportedly street-legal in the US, and built atop a 1977 chassis (which grants it historic status in Germany), this short-cab, flatbed Unimog U1300 SE rides on 22-inch wheels shod with enormous Michelin XZL 445/65 rubber. Power comes from a 6.4-liter inline six-cylinder turbodiesel churning out 315 hp and an unspecified, undoubtedly otherworldly amount of torque. (For benchmarking purposes, the Brabus-tuned Unimog makes 285 hp and 829 lb-ft of twist.)
Other features include a hydraulic lift for the cab (to allow full engine access), a winch with remote control, four-wheel parking brake, Hella high beams, air-ride seats, and an integrated four-person bench with seat belts in the flatbed. Oh, and Arnold signed the dash, too. He's selling it because evidently he wants to go with a different design now.
What's the price for this rolling monument to machismo?
208,250 Euros. In American, that's $269,784. $350,980 buy-it-now, .
Big truck. Big price. Big fun to be had, if you can swing it.
