When it comes to track toys, perhaps the last car someone thinks about is the Land Rover Defender. Designed as a farm truck, its live axles and squared-off body certainly don't make for the best lap times. But that didn't stop this owner.
What we have here is a Land Rover Defender 90 fully customized top-to-bottom by Dutch firm . It features a 565-horsepower 6.2-liter LS3 V8 connected to a T56 six-speed manual transmission, along with air suspension, Koni shocks, and a specially developed AP racing brake system.
All of that combines together to make a pretty decent track machine, somehow. This video of the Tophat Defender below shows the truck driving throughout the streets before hitting the track alongside Porsches and BMWs. Judging by the speeds, it doesn't seem to be doing too bad, either.
If you've ever dreamed for a world where people use their Defenders as track cars (who hasn't, really?), watch for yourself.
