The 288 GTO Was the Ultimate Turbocharged Ferrari

That title might now be held by the 488 Pista, but the 288 was an original.

Using a 2.8-liter V8 and two turbochargers, the 288 GTO was one of many homologation specials from Ferrari. It was based on the 308 GTB and was designed to compete in Group B, the crazy race class that gave us the Ford RS200 and the Renault 5 Turbo. Sadly, Group B was canceled before the GTO got to race, but at least we got the road cars.
