One of the best ways to make your old car look factory-fresh is to have it stripped down to bare metal and repainted. There are quick, simple ways to remove a car's paint, but if you want your new finish to be as close to perfect as possible, you'll need an expert. One like George Amorim of up in Mount Vernon, New York.

Detailing expert Larry Kosilla tapped the services of Amorim and J&B Bodyworks while undertaking a full restoration of his 911. Previously, we've seen this car undergo a roof transplant and tons of rust repair.

Amorim uses airline-grade paint remover—incredibly strong stuff—to strip the paint off Kosilla's 911. It also provides for a fascinating visual in seeing the paint quite literally fall off the car.

Once the paint is off the car, Amorim sands everything down to give it a nice, even surface, making small repairs where needed. You wouldn't expect this level of work from a discount car paint chain, but it's what you need if you want your car to be concours-quality.
