Before Alejandro De Tomaso passed away in 2003, he and his company revealed a stunning new Pantera design study aimed at celebrating and reviving the brand. Sadly, the company collapsed after De Tomaso died, and any hope of a new Pantera street car became lost. Now, the only remaining concept car is coming up for sale.
The De Tomaso Nuova Pantera Prototype is a Marcello Gandini-designed non-running model first shown in September, 1999 during the company's 40th anniversary celebration. After De Tomaso was shuttered in 2004, the car was sold to a private collection, where it remained until it was purchased by the current owner in 2015.
According to RM Sotheby's, the Nuova Pantera underwent a small restoration to repair damage that occurred during storage. Other than the missing side mirrors and front headlights, the car is completely original. It's expected to bring in around $90,000-$116,000 during .
For the De Tomaso fans out there, this might be your only chance to buy the last car the brand ever created. Don't miss out.
