Cleaning your car can seem like a pretty simple task, but there's actually a lot to keep in mind to protect your car from damage. Detailing pro Larry Kosilla from is here to show us the five things you should know before you clean your ride.
The main thing Kosilla emphasizes is the way dirt interacts with your car's paint. When you touch the paint without lubrication, any micro-pebbles present will cause teeny-tiny scratches, which can mangle the clearcoat. Because the rocks are so small, you won't be able to see or feel these scratches happening, but over time, it causes serious damage.
Other things, like mixing dirty soap-water with a delicate paint surface, should be avoided. Kosilla also stresses the use of a clear bra, as even the thinnest examples are incredibly good at protecting your car from unwanted abrasion.
But that's only a few examples. Watch for yourself as Kosilla explains what you should know before you clean your car.
