We've recommended a bunch of vehicles in our daily You Must Buy series where we show you cool cars for sale. But this shady Porsche GT1 replica is a little different. Please do not buy this car. At least, not if you're a stickler for accuracy.
According to the short, vague , this car started off life as a base 1996 Porsche 993-generation 911. It's since been transformed into a replica of Porsche's GT1 Le Mans race car, complete with a widebody kit, an elongated nose, an extended rear end, roof scoop, 19-inch "custom" forged wheels, and a custom interior. We'll let you form your own opinion on the looks.
The ad doesn't say who did the conversion, or mention the engine at all. All we know is the car has an "exhaust" and that it's an automatic. There's no VIN, mileage, or price listed either, which is always a great sign. Furthermore, the seller emphasizes "cash only."
There are lots of shady cars out there, but this one stands out. Please, don't buy it. But if you do, please, let us know. We'd like to drive it.
