Hot Wheels turned fifty this year, only to unleash a seemingly endless wave of collectable die cast goodies. And since the party will never stop, Mattel is launching a 2019 set for Tesla, SpaceX, and space debris fans, containing a 1:64 scale model of the 2008 Tesla Roadster Elon Musk sent into orbit.
And while Mattel's intergalactic Tesla is missing both 'Spaceman' and the miniature Roadster from its dash, it does come with the promise of 77,000 MPH, and just over on its clock.
And there's more good news! In case Tesla Roadster re-issues are not your cup of tea, but you have $500 to spend on a set, Hot Wheels has also come up with of its original 1968 collection.
Those sixteen models include the Chevy Cheetah, and customs like ; a 1967 Pontiac Firebird; a Plymouth Barracuda; a Camaro; a Corvette; a Mercury Cougar; a Cadillac Eldorado; the Fleetside; a Mustang; a T-Bird; a VW Bug; the Dodge Deora Concept; Ford's J-Car; the Hot Heap; and the Silhouette, a show car that's gone missing in the 1980.
Happy playing and/or admiring!
