This Safari 911 Demonstrates the Beauty of Compromise

Do you like driving on twisty roads? Do you also like off-roading? If you wanted one car to do both, it's hard to ignore a rally-ready Porsche 911.

There are people out there that love to drive on twisty roads. There are also people out there that love to go off-roading. But there are some that love to do both. If you needed one car to satisfy those people, it's this car: an off-road-capable Porsche 911.

We've written plenty about safari 911s before, but Jeff Glucker of makes a good point in his latest video. If you needed one video to play the part of a sports car and something that can handle some off-road trails, it's hard to think of anything short of an Ariel Nomad that can do the job as well.

The car Glucker is driving is a 1978 911 SC built by , the same people behind that super-cool Carrera RS tribute he drove back in April. The engine is a stock 3.0-liter unit from the SC, upgraded with heads from a 964. It also has some push bars, a skid plate, a roll cage, and a roof-mounted tire. Seems like the perfect compromise to us.
