If you've been itching to live out your 1980s fantasies by cruising along the beach in a period-correct muscle car, boy do we have the eBay auction for you. It's a 1987 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 IROC-Z barn find with a custom paint job. It's . You should buy it.
Welcome to You Must Buy, our daily look at the cars you really should be buying instead of that boring commuter sedan.
According to the seller, this IROC-Z was stored in a garage for nearly 30 years before it was pulled out, sold by the original owner, and given a once-over with numerous maintenance items replaced. It's in immaculate condition inside and out, and has just 19,611 miles on the odometer, which is pretty astonishing. The custom sunset paintwork over the original blue was done in 1987 by Pete Santini, and even after 31 years, it still looks great. A massive stereo system occupies all of the rear trunk space. Luckily, the back seats still look accessible.
Like all Z28s of this vintage, it houses a 5.0-liter V8 under the hood. Perhaps the only negative about this car is that it sends power to the rear wheels via an automatic transmission rather than a manual. But if you're planning on using this car to cruise around, it's probably not too big a deal.
This Z28 is listed . While that might sound like a lot for an old Chevy Camaro, this thing is arguably one of the best around. The low mileage, combined with that sweet paint job make for one compelling package. As a car for living out your '80s fantasies, we can't think of anything better.
