When you think of places to find vintage muscle cars, Alaska probably isn't the first state that comes to mind. But, as Tom Cotter from Hagerty's YouTube series finds out, it's a treasure trove of cool vintage machinery.
After discovering a '50s Ford truck cab with 9/10s of a mile on the odometer, Cotter gets a tip that an estate is being sold off, and it includes some serious machinery. He arrives to find numerous vintage Mustangs from the '60s and '70s, including an original 1971 Mach 1 barn find with a 429 Cobra Jet engine and factory four-speed manual transmission. There's also a bunch of cool spare parts and extra engines scattered about.
One of the good things about Alaska roads is they don't use salt to dissipate ice on the roads, which means there's a lot less corrosion happening. So these Mustangs are probably in great shape. Check out the full video below.
