The Porsche Carrera GT is no ordinary Porsche. Built with a mid-engine layout an a bespoke race-derived V10 engine, it's one of the finest supercars the company ever built. It played an important role in Porsche's history, which is probably why Best Motoring dedicated an entire episode of its show to the car when it got behind the wheel for the first time.
The Best Motoring recently uploaded the publication's first drive review of the Carrera GT from 2004, and despite the lack of translations, it's somehow still a joy to watch. They compare it to cars like the Ferrari F50, Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, and even the McLaren F1. They also use a bunch of cool in-period technical drawings to show off the car's racing tech.
Best of all, when Best Motoring gets to driving the Carrera GT, they film everything at the Suzuka F1 circuit. Sounds like the perfect first drive to us.
