Interested in breaking in owning a vintage car? Well, despite what some people may tell you, you don't have to spend a lot of money to do it. There are plenty of awesome classics out there you can own without breaking the bank. This 1963 Ford Ranchero, , is a fantastic example. You should buy it.
Welcome to You Must Buy, our daily look at the cars you really should be buying instead of that boring commuter sedan.
According to the seller's description, this Ranchero is all-original save for a reupholstered bench seat. It's equipped with a 260 cubic-inch V8 sending power to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. Despite its age, it looks to be in pretty good condition, as far as we can tell from the pictures anyway. This is a second-gen Ranchero, meaning it's based on the similarly-styled Ford Falcon, except it has a pickup bed instead of a rear seating area and trunk. There's definitely some signs of use, but overall, we think it would make a great beginner's classic. That engine bay is easily accessible, so if anything needs fixing you won't have to bend over backwards reaching it.
The ad says the car's been garaged regularly since the 1980s, and hasn't been driven much recently. The seller is a dealer that claims to have received the car as a trade-in from a man that inherited it from his father. If the car is indeed original, it must've been very well-taken care of. It's with a Buy It Now Price of $7995 or best offer. That's a pretty reasonable price for what you're getting, and we think it's a good, inexpensive way to dive into the classic car world head-first.
