If you're into weird, one-off race cars, you're going to like this video. It's vintage footage of Cusco Racing's mid-engine Impreza rallycross car, which is powered by a Subaru-sourced flat-six engine that's been turbocharged to over 600 horsepower.

According to YouTube's , the driver of this car is Yuji Kase, the boss of Cusco Racing at the time. It's shown in the video below being hammered around a Japan Dirt Trial event in the 1990s, and looks incredibly quick. What's more interesting is the sound—it's not often you hear a Subaru flat-six pushing this much power.

The car is still vaguely shaped like it was from the factory, except sporting some serious tires, a big wing, a roof scoop, and some side air inlets. You probably wouldn't know the engine was where the back seats used to be if someone didn't tell you. Here, check it out for yourself, and make sure to turn up the volume.
