If you're tired of joining endless rows of Corvettes, Camaros, and Mustangs at your local car meet, why not stand out with this Panoz Esperante? Built in America and rocking a Ford modular V-8, it's the perfect alternative. Plus, it looks great, and it's incredibly rare. This red one . You should buy it.
Welcome to You Must Buy, our daily look at the cars you really should be buying instead of that boring commuter sedan.
According to the seller, only 166 Esperante convertibles were built from 1999-2006. Equipped with a 305-horsepower engine, a manual gearbox, double-wishbone suspension, coil-overs, and a limited-slip differential, it has everything you need to have fun on a back country road. This one's only been driven 13,000 miles since new, and still looks to be in great condition. Note the chrome wheels, carbon-fiber engine cover, center-exit exhaust, and center-mounted gauge cluster.
We suspect having to peer over at that center gauge cluster might get annoying after awhile. Still, the car is cool to look at, and incredibly special considering the low production numbers. This one with a high bid of $25,100 and two days remaining. That's cheaper than a new Mustang GT. Sure, it might not be quite as capable, but it'll be a whole lot more interesting to own.
