Finding a project that has all the boxes ticked is difficult. But we think this car has it all. It's a 1969 Pontiac GTO with a stick and air conditioning that's in need of some attention. It runs and drives, and best of all, there's no real rust to speak of. It's . You should buy it.
Welcome to You Must Buy, our daily look at the cars you really should be buying instead of that boring commuter sedan.
This GTO seems to have made it out better than most old, neglected 1960s muscle cars. It's totally complete, and even has most of its original blue paint. There's a non-factory 350-horsepower 400 cubic-inch V8 under the hood, attached to a three-speed manual transmission. The floorboards, engine bay, frame rails, and trunk are all rust-free. The only surface rust is under the vinyl top, according to the seller.
As you can see by the pictures, the car can definitely use some tender love and care. It needs a new gas tank, and a new brake master cylinder. Honestly, you'd be better off taking the time to do a proper restoration job than replacing one thing at a time. And because of the lack of rust, it shouldn't be too much of an issue.
The car with a Buy It Now price of $13,500 or best offer. For a running, driving 1969 GTO with no rust, we'd say that's a deal. It's the perfect candidate for a restoration, restomod, or patina-rich driver. You really can't go wrong.
