Even Ferrari's Four-Cylinder Cars Sound Fantastic

The Italian company might be known for its V-12s, but its smaller engines deserve a mention too.

Ferrari knows how to make a great-sounding V-12, but you already knew that. What some people don't know is the Italian manufacturer also raced with four-cylinder engines.

Aurelio Lampredi was brought into Ferrari in the 1950s to build a selection of inline-fours for racing applications. Though the focus was on reliability, they made good power, and sounded wonderful. This 500 TRC Scaglietti Spyder uses a 2.0-liter version of Lampredi's design, and provides plenty of great noises on track. Here, listen for yourself.
