Jonathan Ward's Icon 4x4-built Land Cruisers are great, but did you know he has another company that works on more modern trucks? It's called TLC 4x4, and its latest creation is this wonderful 1990s Land Cruiser built for overland adventures.

Like most of Ward's off-road creations, this FZJ80-generation Land Cruiser went through an intricate nut-and-bolt restoration, using a combination of new OEM parts and quality aftermarket pieces. Intended for long trips into the wilderness, it's equipped with a bunch of off-road-minded upgrades like a winch, a lift kit, all-terrain tires, and a roof-mounted light bar. In place of the factory differentials are two ARB locking units with a dedicated air compressor. Inside, there's a bunch of bespoke trim, and seats from a late-model BMW 7-Series.

The biggest highlight, though, is under the hood. The factory straight-six has been replaced with a supercharged General Motors LSA crate engine making 560 horsepower and 580 lb-ft of torque. Overkill for an off-roader? Maybe, but Ward claims the truck only makes around 360 horsepower to the tires thanks to drivetrain loss. That's still a lot, especially for something as big and tall as this truck. We're certainly fans.
