This Turbocharged Alfa Romeo Milano Is a Hillclimb Masterpiece

All the sideways Alfa action you could ask for.

It's always a blessing seeing an Alfa Romeo turned into a race car. With the exhaust opened up and the car lowered on purposeful wheels and tires, you get to witness the best of what any Alfa has to offer. This Milano sedan is a great example.

According to the YouTube channel, this Milano (sold as the Alfa Romeo 75 in Europe) is running a 1.8-liter inline-four under the hood, equipped with a turbocharger taken from a Mitsubishi Lancer VIII. Power gets to the rear wheels via a good old-fashioned H-pattern manual gearbox.

Driver Vagelis Xantzis brought the car out to compete in the 2019 Ritsona Hillclimb in Greece, managing to pull some big slides while flying up the road. The sound from that turbo-four doesn't exactly remind me of a sonorous Alfa, but it's still great all the same. Here, listen for yourself.
