Modern Mitsubishi Lancer Evolutions are nice, but thanks to video games like Gran Turismo, it's the older models that really have our hearts—the ones that we never got in the US. Now those models are starting to cross the 25-year old mark, which means they can legally be imported into our country. The first ones are starting to arrive, and we couldn't be more excited.
Welcome to You Must Buy, our daily look at the cars you really should be buying instead of that boring commuter sedan.
This first-gen Lancer Evolution was by Top Rank International Vehicle Importers, and features a whole bunch of cool mods. It has aftermarket wheels, sweet foglights, red mudflaps, a Momo steering wheel, and about a million stickers plastered along the body.
These first-gen cars used the same drivetrain as the original Galant VR4, which means a 2.0-liter 4G63T turbocharged four-cylinder sending 244 horsepower and 228 lb.-ft. of torque through a five-speed manual transmission to all four wheels. This one looks pretty clean inside and out despite the 134,538-mile odometer reading.
Find it with a list price of $12,955. That may seem like a lot for an old Lancer, but if you've always pined for one of these cars, this is perhaps your earliest chance to nab one, legally.
