Mark Webber Is Very Quick Under Specific Circumstances

The Aussie Porsche factory driver "auditioned" for The Grand Tour. It didn't go well.

With NASCAR driver Mike Skinner gone, The Grand Tour has to find a new professional racer to set lap times. Jeremy Clarkson brought in Mark Webber, current Porsche factory driver and former Red Bull F1 racer, to audition. He proves to be very fast, but only under very specific circumstances.

Everything goes well when he's behind the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, but when Clarkson, Hammond, and May have him test the Mercedes-AMG GT R? Well, you'll just have to watch.

So did "Australia's Second Best," as Clarkson calls him, get the job? We'll have to wait until season two of The Grand Tour premieres on December 8th, but we're not holding our breath. Webber's clearly fast, but only when he's in a certain type of car, it seems. We have no idea why that's the case.
