If you're like us, you love a good episode of Jerry Seinfeld's web series, Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee. It's a show where Seinfeld invites his comedian friends to join him in a cool classic car and drive to get coffee somewhere. It's as entertaining as you'd think, and if you're a car person, it's double the fun. This newest episode is no different, and features a beautiful unrestored Porsche 356 Speedster.
The Porsche 356 is considered the Genesis of the Porsche brand as we know it today. With a unique design, horizontally opposed engine layout, and rear-engine design, it paved the way for the 911s we know today. This particular 1958 356A Speedster is Seinfeld's personal car, and it's stunning. It's unrestored too, complete with rust spots, holes in the soft top, and a fading paint job.
But unlike the concours-spec classics people cherish so dearly, there's a certain charm to driving around a survivor like this 356. You don't have to worry if it gets covered in a little rain or dirt, and seeing it go down the road puts a smile on people's faces like nothing else.
as Seinfeld joyfully pilots his 356 around the town with his guest, comedian Norm MacDonald, as they go grab a coffee and catch up.
