Hatchbacks, fastbacks, SUVs and sedans—these aren't the first cars you'd think of as Nurburgring record-setters. But these high-performance haulers put down some serious lap times on the Nordschleife. If it's got four doors for passengers to get in and out of, and a kick-ass 'Ring time, it's on this list.

2009 Cadillac CTS-V - 7:59.32

The first-generation CTS-V was a surprise, but it was the second generation that really came out swinging. The interior felt high end, it packed a 556-hp V8 under the hood, and it could seriously handle. The fact that in 2008, a Cadillac sedan could lap the Nurburgring in less than eight minutes was pretty impressive, too.

2018 Audi RS4 Avant - 7:58.52

Germany's Sport Auto was able to lay down an impressive 7:58 time around the Nordschleife thanks to the car's massive grip and low-RPM turbo grunt.

2019 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S - 7:25:41

As much as Mercedes would like you to think its GT sedan is a "coupe," it's really a hatchback with a sloping roof and four doors, hence its spot on the list. Mercedes claims this 7:25 time is a record for "four-seater production cars," yet the Nissan GT-R and GT-R Nismo both set faster times, and also have four seats.

2018 Jaguar XE SV Project 8 - 7:21.23

Jaguar didn't hold anything back when it built the XE SV Project 8. The car is completely bespoke compared to the normal XE sedan, with carbon-fiber body panels, a ton of aero, and a 592-horsepower supercharged V8. All those upgrades culminate in a 7:21 lap time, making the Project 8 by far the fastest sedan to ever loop the Nurburgring.
