By day, Jacques (pronounced "Jack") Flynn is a senior designer at Mazda's advanced concept studio in Irvine, California. As a designer, he's got very
specific taste, not only in cars but in all the products, clothing, and accessories that he buys. Frustrated by not being able to find the perfect wallet,
Flynn started in 2012, a men's handcrafted leather wallet and accessory company that he runs out of his
apartment and garage in Long Beach.
Established with the goal of creating sleek and minimal tailored men's wallets, JAQET products are handcrafted with domestically-sourced full grain
leather. The leather is vegetable-tanned and then dyed, cut, and stitched in-house. Flynn oversees every detail, from the exclusive seasonal color choices and
stitching down to the branding and packaging.
We caught up with Flynn at his Long Beach home to talk about JAQET, the parallels between his two design jobs, and the story behind his stunning '68 Volvo P1800 S.
