Let's face it: most of the car designs throughout the 1990s were plain, bordering on mundane. Sure, you had the wickedly cool super cars of the age, but those were far outnumbered by the blase economy cars, as they usually are. Here's a list of cars that were not offensive to drive, but surely were offensive to see.

Nissan Quest

Overall, the semi-melted metal look didn't do the Quest any favors. But, it was still a very reliable family car. Where people reported their Mercedes and BMWs of the age starting to wear and break down, the Quest was still going strong.

The SW1 looks like Saturn just kind of dropped a wagon back onto the sedan and called it a day. Talk about lazy styling.

Chrysler Imperial

The front end of this car was a straight-up insult to the beautiful Chrysler Imperials of the 1960s. Where was the last time you saw one of these in real life? Stacked six-high at the junkyard, that's where.

Giving a car a name like "Achieva" is like giving yourself a gold star.

Buick Skylark

Wedge profiles work well on sports cars and coupes, not so much on economy sedans. And what was up with that funny-shaped nose? For stabbing pedestrians in the kneecaps, clearly.

Suzuki X-90

You can't look at the X-90 without laughing. The proportions were cartoonish and we can't work out why the thing had a spoiler.

Daewoo Nubira

Remember the Daewoo, and how bad it was everywhere? It wasn't large enough to make a statement, and it wasn't small enough to go unnoticed.

Ford Aspire

Getting over the terrible name, this was an egg on wheels. An egg cart, if you will.

Eagle Summit Wagon

This was a mini mini van. Its look suggested that it was missing an extra body panel between the front and rear axles, making the design ugly and ungainly.

Pontiac Grand Am

Bad build quality, a cheap interior, and a hideous exterior made this one interesting ride.
