Racing schools are as popular as ever. Manufacturers and organizations all over the world offer programs to people looking to get into the world of road racing and stage rally, giving them the chance to drive cars at their limits. Only one of those schools offers its services in classic, ice racing prepped, Porsche 911s, however.
, a renowned racing shop in the United Kingdom, holds its "Below Zero" ice driving school every winter in some of Porsche's most iconic cars. People flock from all over the world to Tuthill's frozen lake to learn the art of driving at the limit. The school also has a proper forest rally stage at its disposal, making it easy for students to experience all sorts of different driving surfaces.
The cars—all air-cooled 911s—are fully prepped to handle the harsh conditions of the Swedish winter, with spiked tires, GPS data-recorders, and full roll cages. Tuthill encourages people to push their limits, as there's no real danger in losing control on a wide open, snow covered lake.
Tuthill put up a promotional video for its famous program on its , and it features an abundance of sideways air-cooled action. Even if you're not interested in flying out to Sweden for a drive (we're not sure why you wouldn't be), the video is definitely worth a watch.
