When he was working with Pininfarina on the Ferrari P4/5, Jim Glickehaus expressed interest in Dino Competizione, then a museum piece. After being initially rebuffed, he and the design house worked out a deal, and Jim became the car's first owner. Last month, he brought it to Pebble Beach, where he spent some time telling its story to (which you really should ).
In it, you get a real taste of Jim's adamant no-trailer-queens approach to his collection when he says, "What saddens me is that I see Ferraris that are 20 years old that have 400 miles on them. I mean, it's crazy."
The one-of-a-kind Dino Competizione, like every other car of Jim's, has thousands of road miles on it. Cars, after all, are built to be driven.
