Good news for folks who like their sport coupes with two doors on one side and one on the other: Feast your eyes on the all-new 2019 Hyundai Veloster and Veloster Turbo.
Fully redesigned for 2019, the Veloster maintains its asymmetrical semi-coupe layout: One door on the driver's side, two on the passenger's side. The two--one hatchback's overall profile and proportions are similar to the outgoing model, but modernized.
The one we're interested in, of course, is the Veloster Turbo. Its 1.6-liter turbo four cylinder pumps out 201 horses and 202 lb-ft of torque on overboost (195 without activating overboost), available with either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
The non-Turbo Veloster makes use of an Atkinson-cycle 2.0-liter four-cylinder making 147 hp and 132 lb-ft, sent through either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. All Velosters make use of torque-vectoring control, while the Turbo sports a quicker steering rack and stiffened suspension.
The 2019 Veloster and Veloster Turbo hit the market in the second quarter of 2018.
