The last time Buick built a truly gorgeous car, Harry Truman was president. That may not be true for much longer. The company unveiled the Avenir Concept ahead of the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, and it's downright beautiful.

The awkward, front-wheel-drive proportions of the Lacrosse have been scrapped in favor of a long, proud nose and wide hips over the rear wheels. The thing's handsome. There's no other word for it.
There's seating for four inside, and Buick says there's a direct-injected V6 underhood. There's no word on either power or displacement, but if he had to bet, it's the twin-turbo 3.6 that's used in the Cadillac XTS Vsport, CTS Vsport, and ATS-V.
A dual-clutch, nine-speed automatic channels power to those mammoth 21-inch wheels, but Buick doesn't specify which wheels— whether the concept is front or rear wheel drive is left unsaid.
Does it matter? Not at the moment. It's just nice to see Buick roll out a design with a pulse. Check out the gallery below for a closer look.
