Renault revealed an all-new Megane RS hot hatch today with four-wheel steering, a 276-horsepower turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine, and an available six-speed dual clutch transmission. It looks really cool.
The new Megane will be offered with two chassis setups: Sport or Cup. The hardcore Cup gets a limited-slip differential and 19-inch wheels, while the softer Sport receives smaller 18-inch wheels and a brake-vectoring limited-slip setup. Both versions get the same engine, and the buyer's choice of a six-speed manual or a six-speed dual-clutch.
Renault Sport boss Patrice Ratti confirmed to there is also a more powerful track-ready Megane RS Trophy on its way.
The Megane RS gets a new look for 2018, with newly styled bumpers and headlights, as well as a new interior. It also gets a pair of fog lights that look like a checkered flag, which is nifty.
As you've probably already guessed, the new Renault Megane RS isn't coming to the United States. But it's still nice to see automakers building cars like this. And hey, next time you're at the Nurburgring, you might be given this car as a rental, so don't discount it just yet.
