In case you haven't heard, Monterey Car Week 2018 happened last week. In addition to all the cool new car reveals and sweet top-notch car shows, there was also the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, which takes place every year at Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca.
Danny Baker, owner of a 1963 Lotus Formula Junior open-wheeler, was one of the people invited to participate in this year's festivities. attached a helmet-mounted camera to Baker as he started from pole position during his race, and the resulting video is incredible to watch. Not only does he maintain the lead, but Baker manages to keep the field at bay while drifting and counter-steering through nearly every one of Laguna Seca's 11 turns.
And despite being over half a century old, the little Lotus has no problem going absolutely flat-out the entire time. That Cosworth engine sings to redline in every gear without hesitation. Watch for yourself, and make sure to turn the volume up.
