The Italian Carabinieri motorcycle police cleared the roads surrounding Lake Como, Italy, for Rolls-Royce owners and VIP guests attending the Villa d'Este Concorso d'Eleganza. Valued at more than $6.5-million, the twelve Rolls-Royce luxury cars serenely wound their way through small villages and along narrow lanes. Models on-hand included the Phantom, Phantom Drophead Coupe, Phantom Coupe and Ghost.
Beginning at Villa d'Este in Cernobbio, the route ended in Gravedona, where guests were shuttled across the lake on J-Craft Torpedo motor cruisers, for lunch in Bellagio. And yes, this is the point in the press release where we became insanely jealous too. The drive capped off the Concorso's weekend of automotive-themed celebrations held from May 22-23.
"This was a truly amazing experience in one of Europe's most beautiful locations," said Torsten Müller-Ötvös, CEO Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. "We know the Italians appreciate the finest things in life – and we have the Carabinieri to thank for making sure our guests arrived for lunch with broad smiles on their faces."
