As automotive teases go, the wait for the next is about as pulse quickening and agonizing as they get. The British racing team and sports car manufacturer recently teased us with a single image of lights dancing over the shape of its upcoming supercar, the successor to the company's original three-passenger and BMW V12-powered F1 model. With a top speed of 240-mph, the McLaren F1 held the title of `world's fastest production car' until the Bugatti Veyron claimed the title roughly a decade later.
Check out the teaser video on McLaren's official YouTube channel and be prepared to hit the `pause' button repeatedly. The shape is relatively obscured except for a couple flashes when the body is almost entirely visible, before quickly fading away into a light show. The nose looks similar to the current McLaren MP4-12C coupe, but we'll know all the details once the McLaren F1 debuts on September 27 during the press preview.
The wait isn't going to be easy.
