Another race, another fight. Just three weeks ago, Matt Kenseth chased down Brad Keselowski after a -filled ragefest at Charlotte. This weekend's Texas 500 saw an even larger brawl erupt between Keselowski and Jeff Gordon, with a little push by Kevin Harvick.
Gordon and Keselowski made after a restart, heading into turn 1. Gordon drifted up towards the wall and Keselowski shot towards the gap, and then Gordon drifted back down. The cut Gordon's tire, which sent him spinning through the field shortly thereafter.
Back in the pits, the two drivers' pit crews assembled as sparks flew. After Keselowski was shoved towards Gordon by Harvick, punches flew. In the post-race interview, you can see that Gordon took a shot to his lip.
Keselowski argued that he was simply taking a shot at a gap while trying to take the win. Gordon, meanwhile, lashed out aggressively at Keselowski after the fight, calling him "a dipshit … [t]he way he races, I don't know how he's ever won a championship." Harvick also expressed, after the incident, that the was Keselowski's fault. "If you're going to race like that, you're going to have to man up at some point," Harvick told Fox Sports.
The hurt Gordon's place in the standings, dropping him 3 positions to 12 points behind Joey Logano. Brad Keselowski is a point ahead of Harvick in the standings at 7th place.
