The Nissan Skyline is great at a lot of things. It's a fantastic road car, a dominant race car, and even a competent rally machine. Now, thanks to this video of a monstrously fast R34 Skyline GT-R in South Africa, we can add hillclimb car to that list.
The Knysna Simola Hillclimb event in southern South Africa happened back in May, and perhaps the most stand-out car at the event was this R34 Skyline GT-R, driven by Martin Van Zummeren. According to the video description, this yellow Skyline makes an impressive 900 horsepower from its RB26DETT straight-six turbocharged engine, and revs to 9000 rpm. Talk about high-strung.
Thanks to the YouTube channel, we get to see this banana-colored beast fly up the hill at full-tilt, complete with all the turbo noises and straight-six sounds you can think of. Even if the car , it's still a true joy to watch.
