The Lancia Stratos made a lasting impression on the rally world back in the 1970s thanks to its stunning looks, fantastic sounds, and numerous WRC wins. Of course, the Stratos was severely outclassed once the likes of Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive cars rolled around. But that hasn't stopped rally fans from loving (and racing) it.
This clip comes to us via the YouTube channel, and features a beautiful blue Group 4 Lancia Stratos race car competing in the Alpe Nevegal Hillclimb in Northern Italy. The car, driven by Silvio Andrighetti, is equipped with a mid-mounted Ferrari Dino V6, which sounds just lovely.
This Stratos might not be as fast as the high-downforce, high-horsepower hillclimb monsters we've seen competing recently, but we think it's just as fun to watch. Take a look for yourself, and please, put on a set of headphones. You don't want to miss that delicious Ferrari V6 howl.
