The new Aston Martin Vantage is just around the corner, which means an all-new race car version of company's entry-level sports car is coming as well. We haven't heard much about the newest Aston race car—until now.

published a video today of a camouflaged V8-powered Vantage race car testing at Rockingham Motor Speedway in the United Kingdom. According to Sportscar365, this car is Aston's upcoming GTE entry, set to compete in the 2018 FIA World Endurance Championship, and thus, the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Though we can't tell much from the video, this Vantage certainly sounds V8-powered. Sportscar365 speculates this car could feature a version of the same AMG-sourced V8 found in the upcoming road-going Vantage and current V8 DB11. It makes sense, but we can't say for sure just yet.

Watch for yourself as Aston's latest racing effort thunders around an empty British racetrack.
