Back in March, Chevrolet revealed a track-only version of the F-body called the Camaro GT4.R. With bodywork inspired by the ZL1 1LE and a race-prepped 6.2-liter LT1 V8, it's sure to be a serious contender at any circuit. And now, you can buy one.
GM technical partner Prat & Miller, the company building the GT4.R, has announced for the race-ready Camaro, which starts at $259,000 according to . When compared to cars like the at $213,000 or the McLaren 570S GT4 at $195,000, it's not the cheapest turn-key racer out there. In case you haven't noticed, racing is expensive.
Complete with 480 horsepower, a six-speed sequential transmission, two-way adjustable Öhlins suspension, and all the requisite safety equipment, the Camaro GT4.R has everything you'll need to go racing.
The GT4.R is eligible for IMSA's Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, and has competed in the Pirelli World Challenge. This isn't just a trackday special—it's a real-deal racer, ready to roll right from the factory. If it drives (and sounds) as good as it looks, it'll be a serious competitor for pro racers everywhere.
