To briefly answer the question posed in the headline, Ryan Eversley is a racer for Acura's factory team, driving the new NSX GT3 in Pirelli World Challenge. But our Marshall Pruett wanted to know what makes this guy tick. So he asked, and turned it into a podcast so we can find out too.
Pruett's interview with Eversley is actually part one of Pruett's new podcast called Who the Hell Are You? Each episode is under a half-hour long, featuring Pruett asking the same 50 rapid-fire questions to a different pro race driver every week.
Pruett, being one of the best-connected journalists in US motorsports, put together a hell of a group of interviewees. In addition to Eversley, Who the Hell Are You? will feature Patrick Long, Sebastien Bourdais, Joey Hand, John Hindhaugh, Jordan Taylor, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Juan Pablo Montoya, Scott Dixon, Will Buxton, Katherine Legge, Ryan Dalziel, Townsend Bell, and Justin Bell.
How do they like it? Eversley said of his time in the hot seat, "have you ever looked back and said, ‘I wish I hadn’t said that out loud?’ That’s the Who The Hell Are You? podcast in a nutshell. I’m sorry in advance.” Lally, a vegan, said "I enjoyed it about as much as I enjoy a good steak," while IndyCar broadcaster Townsend Bell described the interview as "the most uncomfortable 20 minutes of my life."
"I’ve known Marshall long enough to know that getting involved in this was a stupid idea," said F1 pit reporter Will Buxton. "But I was wrong—it was worse."
"What’s so bad about Taylor Swift?" said IMSA WeatherTech champion Jordan Taylor, apropos of nothing. "I’d be interested in dating her just to see what kind of song she’d write about me."
