In case you haven't heard, the Nurburgring is open for 2018. The first tourist day has come and gone, and now it's time for the race cars to have a go. Fortunately, they'll have their chance this weekend.
The first round of the VLN Endurance Championship starts Saturday, March 24th. It's a series dedicated entirely to the Nurburgring, running its four-hour races exclusively on the combined Nordschleife and GP circuit tracks. There are several different classes competing, with cars ranging from brand-new Lamborghini Huracan GT3s to race-ready BMW M235i Rs. There's even a classic Opel Manta that competes, if you're into vintage racing metal.
The VLN series will host nine races this year, including a special six-hour race in August. The VLN streams its races , as well as the track's YouTube channel, so you don't have to be in Germany track-side to catch all the action.
