Cyan Racing finished its third WTCC season as the world champion, so it's safe to say that their three-year plan has worked just fine. Now, they are teaming up with Geely Group Motorsport to form Lotus Cyan Racing, campaigning a Lotus Evora GT4 in the Swedish GT Championship.
Lotus Cyan Racing's driver lineup consists of Prince Carl Philip, 2017's Swedish GT runner-up, reigning touring car world champion Thed Björk, and five-time Scandinavian touring car champion Richard Göransson. Their season will start at Knutstorp in Sweden on May 4-5, followed by four more races against the GT4 offerings of McLaren, Porsche, Ferrari, and more.
Exciting news, and one thing is for sure: their Polestar-blue Lotus looks fantastic.
This is also the first effort for an expanded Geely motorsports presence, now that Volvo is no longer eligible for the WTCC due to regulation changes. This is the just the first program in what is expected to be a wide motorsports effort, and we're all excited about that.
