French racer Romain Dumas, two-time Le Mans winner and four-time Pikes Peak champion, is currently developing a Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport to go rallying. It's possibly the coolest new rally car we've seen this year.

RD Limited, Dumas's engineering company, is currently developing the car for World Rally Championship (WRC) duty, according to . No actual specs have been released, but presumably, it has heavy-duty suspension for hard landings and broken pavement, as well as new wheels, tires, and brakes. Assuming the drivetrain remains unchanged, the car will have a PDK dual-clutch transmission and a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six originally developed for the old 911 Carrera S.

This isn't the first Cayman GT4 rally car we've seen. French driver Gilles Nantet fielded one of his own early last year, though the development on Dumas's car seems much more extensive.

, Dumas is planning on entering the car in Rally Deutschland in Germany, which is coming up next weekend. It'll compete in the R-GT class, against cars like the Fiat 124 Abarth, Aston Martin V8 Vantage, and 911 GT3. In the meantime, a handful of videos have surfaced of the car testing on German back roads, which you can watch below. Please, don't forget to turn the volume up.
