Here's a fun one for you: Sports car legend Andy Wallace tackling the Daytona road course in a Le Mans-winning Audi R8 LMP1 car. It comes to us via Goodwood Road & Racing's YouTube channel, and it appears to have been taken at last year's Classic 24 Hour race at the famous Florida track.
According to the excellent database at , the R8 never actually raced at Daytona in period because it was part of the Rolex Grand-Am series, not the American Le Mans Series. The R8 did compete in Florida's other famous endurance race, the 12 Hours of Sebring winning every year from 2000 to 2005.
This R8 appears to be sporting the famous ADT livery like the 2005 Le Mans winner, but it's unclear if this is that car.
Wallace—himself a Le Mans winner with Jaguar—drove R8s in period, and also took home a couple of podium finishes at the French 24-hour race in its sister car, the Bentley EXP Speed 8. So, this is a good pairing.
Goodwood put this on its channel as will be held next week. Surely, there will be an R8 or two in attendance.
